Community Education

AOH Community Education: Be Anchored

The goal of AOH’s Community Education program, Be Anchored, is to champion Sexual Risk Avoidance education as the best approach to help middle school and high school aged students acquire the necessary skills and tools to delay sexual activity and experience healthy relationships.

This evidence-based approach to sexual health education is designed for teenagers and pre-teens. The program promotes holistic wellness and empowers youth to make healthy decisions about sex and relationships for positive life outcomes.

Programs include topics such as healthy relationships and dating, STI/STD prevention, women’s hormonal health, sex and social media, teen safety, and much more. Programs can be customizable to the needs of your students/organization. There is no cost to schools, youth groups, churches, or any organizations for this service and the educational program.

The Outreach and Community Education team can deliver the full 6-8 session course, customize specific sections to align with individual needs, or provide training for others to teach the material. This comprehensive educational program is offered entirely free of charge to participating organizations.

What Schools Are Saying About Be Anchored

"Anchor of Hope is an incredible place. I've seen its impact both in my work as an educator, but also as a high school youth group leader. Sue came and spoke to our youth group about the pearl of great price. In a beautiful and Biblical way, she demonstrated the importance of making choices that align with God's wonderful hope and plan for all of our lives. We followed Sue's talk with small group discussion, which led to amazing conversations about relationships, choosing good partners, what to do when God's plan doesn't fit with our plans, and so much more. It was a launching point for conversations that aren't always easy, but are much needed. I'm so thankful for Anchor of Hope's mission and partnership within our community!"

"Sue from AOH was great to work with in our school. Besides relevant information, Sue brought meaningful experiences, stories and a passion that our kids could relate to. AOH's lessons were a really nice addition to our health unit(s)."
